Duty and tax suspended
Goods would sit in bond until you released them, so the money stays in your business until the stock actually moves.
Family owned since 1933 · serving you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Bonded storage lets you hold imported goods with the customs duty and the import tax suspended until they move. We are looking at opening a customs warehouse at our Glastonbury site — and we want to hear from the importers who would use it.
Where this is up to
A customs warehouse is an authorisation, not a shelf. We do not hold one today, and nothing on this page should be read as saying we do.
What we do have is the site it would run on: 120,000 sq ft of BRCGS-accredited racking on seven acres, containers coming off the ports into it every week, and our own fleet taking the goods out again. The missing piece is the authorisation — and whether there is enough demand in the South West to be worth applying for.
So tell us. What do you import, which port does it land at, and roughly how much would you want to hold in bond? The importers who answer are the ones this gets built around.
The warehouse the bond would sit in is the one already doing ambient storage, fed by container destuffing from the ports and emptied by pallet delivery on our own fleet, with pick and pack on the same racking.

The site
Seven acres, BRCGS-accredited racking and our own fleet running in and out of it 24 hours a day — already doing everything bonded storage needs except the bond itself.
How a bonded warehouse works
That is the whole point of one. Stock lands, and it sits in the warehouse owing nothing. What is paid, and whether anything is paid at all, is decided later — by where it goes next. This is what we are looking at opening here.
We collect from any UK port, by line haul or merchant haul, on our own vehicles.
On BRCGS-accredited racking, with the duty and the import tax suspended for as long as it stays there.
£0 owedThe duty and the import tax fall due when the goods leave bond for the home market — so the money stays in your business until the stock actually sells.
Goods that leave the country again can go without paying any customs duty or taxes — which is the single biggest advantage of bonded warehousing.
We handle the whole chain either way: collected, destuffed, stored, and delivered on our own fleet when you release it.
What you get
Goods would sit in bond until you released them, so the money stays in your business until the stock actually moves.
We already collect from all UK ports and destuff at our own warehouse. Bonded goods would go straight from the container into bond — one company, one site, one invoice.
The same 120,000 sq ft of racking and block stack space our ambient storage runs on, for as long or as short a term as you need.
Sorted, palletised and dispatched to suit, then delivered in FTL or LTL on our own fleet — exactly as everything else leaving this site does.
Our 120,000 sq ft warehouse and container storage facilities are all accredited to the BRCGS Standard at grade AA. The customs warehouse authorisation is a separate thing and we do not hold it yet.
Common questions
If what you need is not here, ring the yard on 01458 831742 — somebody who plans loads will answer, 24 hours a day.
Bonded storage, or customs warehousing, lets you store imported goods without paying the customs duty or the import tax until they are released into the home market or exported out of the country. The money stays in your business until the stock actually moves.
No. We do not hold a customs warehouse authorisation yet, and nothing on this page should be read as saying we do. We are finding out how much demand there is in the South West before we apply — which is what this page is for.
In our own 120,000 sq ft BRCGS-accredited facility in Glastonbury, Somerset — the same racking and the same people as our ambient storage, on the site containers are already being destuffed at.
We already do, for ordinary storage: all UK ports, line haul or merchant haul, destuffed at our own warehouse. Once the authorisation is in place the same collection would run straight into bond — one company, one site, one invoice.
Sorted, palletised and dispatched within a time frame to suit, then stored and re-delivered in FTL or LTL on our own fleet.
The rest of what we do
A container that is destuffed has to be stored, picked and delivered. All of it happens on our site, on our fleet.
